1.Lo, the na--tions all as-sem--ble And i-mag-ine van--i-ty, Kings and prin--ces plot to-ge--ther ’Gainst the Lord in u-ni-ty. “Let us break their bonds a-sun--der, Cast a--way their cords from us.” ’Gainst the Lord and His A-noint--ed World-ly rul--ers coun-sel thus.
2.He who sit--teth in the heav--ens In con-tempt will laugh at them, Vex them in His fierce dis-plea--sure, Ter-ri-fy--ing all such men. Yet up-on the hill of Zi--on God has His a-noint--ed King This is God’s own dec-la-ra--tion, All the kings ad-mon-ish-ing.
3.Now 'tis Christ, 'tis God's A-noint--ed, Who de-clares the Lord's de-cree: “Thou'rt my Son (in res-ur-rec--tion), This day I've be-got-ten Thee. All the na-tions I will give Thee For Thine own in-her--it-ance. Thou shalt dash them in-to pie--ces In Thy king--ly ex-cel-lence.”
4.Now be wise, O be in-struc--ted, All ye rul-ers of the earth, Fear the Lord, re-joice with trem--bling, Serve the on--ly One of worth. Kiss the Son, lest He be an--gry And ye per-ish in the way. “All who trust in Him are blest--ed,” All who trust in Him will say.
5.Lord, we praise Thee, we have seen Him Thy u-nique A-noint--ed One And from van--i-ty re-pent--ing, We in love have kissed Thy Son. “All who trust in Him are blest--ed” Not “all those who keep the law.” In that ris--en One be-liev--ing, We are blest for-ev-er-more.
